Hospitality – this is a welcoming church and it is because people take time to intentionally welcome and greet people, whether those people are members or visitors. If you have the gift of hospitality, there are several ways you can help.
  • Bread for Visitors – bake bread to be given to each first time visitor
  • Coffee Host – prepare coffee and snacks after the 8:30 and 11:00am services, and before the 9:45am service
  • Greeters – greet and welcome people and hand out bulletins before each service

There are many ways to get involved with the Children's Ministries here at First UMC.

  • Sunday School – Teacher or Helper for classes with children age 2 through 5th grade. One teacher and one helper required for each class. A leader’s guide is provided for teachers and little preparation is required. Helpers assist the teacher and supervise activities. There is also a need for substitutes and volunteers to fill in just once for the season. Sunday school is during the 9:45 am service.
  • First Kids! – Planned activity for children age 3 through 3rd grade during the 8:30 am service. You are invited to help or lead a planned activity.
  • Kids Under Construction and Tweens – Adults needed to help supervise dinner and assist leader with group activities.
  • Vacation Bible School – One week each summer. There are a variety of ways to share your talents and gifts. You can serve as a small group leader, group assistant, craft leader, or games leader. Or, you can stay behind the scenes and help with registration, snack or meal preparation, and decorations. You are invited to help for one day, a few days, or the entire week.
  • Summer Sunday School Teacher or Helper – Classes for age 2 through 5th grades are combined into larger groups to give teachers a break. A teacher and helper are required for each group. Leader’s guide is provided for teachers and little preparation is required. Helpers will assist the teacher and supervise activities. Summer Sunday school is during the 9:45 am service.
  • Special Events – Adults needed to help with providing supplies, set up, and clean up. Help with planning special events is also welcomed.
