Get Connected with Each Other

One of the most meaningful aspects of church life is our connection with other people who share the journey of Christian faith. It is through other people that God often comes to us; and it is through us that God often reaches out to others in love. First United Methodist Church encourages everyone to connect with a small group or ministry. When we become involved in the lives of other people we grow more Christ-like in our living. Check out these opportunities to get connected with others:

  • Adult Ministries

Our Adult Ministries are designed to prepare, challenge, and inspire women and men to a life of Christian discipleship. Our Sunday School classes, as well as information on our ministries that are focused on Women & Men can all be found in this section. If you have a question or a suggestion about our Adult Ministries, please contact Carolyn McGee, Spiritual Life Coordinator.

  • Advent & Christmas Schedule

The word angel comes from the Greek word aggelos (pronounced angelos), which means messenger. Some English translations of the Bible also translate malak, the Hebrew word for messenger, as angel when the malak is from God. Sharing a message from God is the primary role of angels in the scriptures.

In the Christmas story, for example, the angel Gabriel appears to Mary to tell her she will be the mother of Jesus. An unnamed angel comes to Joseph in dreams to guide him through Mary’s pregnancy and the early days of Jesus’ life. Another appears to Zechariah to tell him that Elizabeth will give birth to John the Baptist. Then, on the night of Jesus’ birth, an angel informs a group of shepherds that they can find the Christ child in a manger, followed by a large group of angels praising God.

Please join us as we acknowledge the Angels Among Us  and remember that God has come near.

  • Service Opportunities In First UMC

We are a growing community!  There are many ways to get involved within First UMC.

  • Young Adults

We have an active Young Adult Ministry that includes a weekly small group, an inter-denominational meet-up group, and we also offer many opportunities for service and outreach.  You can find most of our young adults on Sunday mornings in the 9:45 Contemporary service although there are many who also appreciate and frequent our other services as well. If you have any questions or a suggestions about our Young Adult Ministry, please contact Meredith Rose, Young Adult Coordinator.

  • Youth Ministry

First United Methodist Church recognizes how important the middle and high school years are - they are a time of challenge, change, and wonder as youth investigate who they are in the Lord. First UMC Youth Group helps teens on that journey of self-discovery and our youth are vibrant and vital members of the church community.
