LENTEN PRAYERS IN THE PARK(S) RETURNS

Last year we introduced a new Lenten Discipline we called ‘Prayers in the Park’ whereby one or more of us signed up to spend 20 minutes or so in Market Street Park each day during Lent reading scripture, praying, listening for God’s voice in the sounds of the city, and then jotting down our reflections about the experience. We will renew that discipline during Lent this year – but with a twist. While Market Street Park will remain our default location, some will be encouraged to "love the whole city" by taking this ministry of witness to alternate locations like Hinton Ave UMC, Downtown Mall, Belmont Park, Washington Park, and Ix Park. To sign up use this link.

Upcoming Lenten Events

Shrove  Sunday….not Tuesday….Pancake Supper!

Sunday, February 19th, join us for a Pre-Lenten Pancake Supper in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 p.m.  This event will be a fund raiser for Rise Against Hunger which will take place on April 15. There is no cost for the dinner, but donations will be accepted! We will have lots of pancakes (gluten-free will be available), link sausages, syrup, fruit, and hot beverages for your consumption! What a fun way to raise money for a good cause and have some great fellowship all at the same time!
